 Wild Cow Milking:

The 4 man team, all of which are horseback, will start at one end of the arena behind the start line.  A cow will then be released at the opposite end of the arena from the chute.  Time will start when the judge drops the flag.  Failure to stay behind the line before time begins will result in a 30 second penalty.  There are only three legal head catches (neck, one half head, both horns).  There will be absolutely no jerking down or dragging of a cow.  Cow will be mugged and milked while standing.  Any team member may milk and run the bottle to the flagman.  Rope must be off of the cow before time is flagged.  Milk must be poured by the judge.  Milk must drip or pour out of the bottle.  There is a two minute time limit for this event, with a two loop limit.  The cow must be roped within the first minute or it will be an automatic NO TIME.

Branding:

This is a 4 man team.  Calves will be held behind a line at the end of the arena by ALL the team’s ropers.  Time begins when the Roper crosses the line.  The calf must be roped by one or two heels, with unlimited loops.  Once the calf is caught, the roper is to drag the calf across the line at a trot where it is to be flanked by two flankers.  Once the calf is flanked and the rope removed, the brander is allowed to remove the iron and brand the calf on their ribs and return the iron to the “fire”.  Time stops when the iron is back at the "fire" after the second calf has been branded.  Two head per team must be roped and branded to receive a time.  A 30 second penalty will be assessed if the brander leaves the fire early.  There will be 2 teams working at the same time.  There will be a 3 minute time limit.  Trotting will be allowed, but NO LOPING in the herd or to the fire.

 Team Doctoring:

This is a 4 man team horseback with a 4 loop limit.  Each team will Head, Heel, doctor, and remove their ropes for time to stop.  Each team member is allowed only one loop.  Cattle in the herd will be numbered and each team will be drawn a number at random.  Time will start and number will be announced when the cutter crosses the line.  Only one rider may sort from the herd, other riders may cross the line, but are not allowed in the herd.  Yearling must cross the line and all unauthorized cattle must be returned to the herd before it can be roped.  Once the team quits the herd when their designated yearling has been sorted, the team is not responsible for the rest of the herd.  If the yearling gets back in the herd, it must be sorted by the original cutter.  There are only three legal head catches (both horns, one half head, or neck from shoulders forward).  No penalty for one hind leg catch.  If a catch is not legal, the loop must be free from the horse before the next loop can be thrown.  Ropers must rope the head before they heels are roped.  When the ropes are tight and horses are faced, the two remaining team members must mark head with chalk before removing ropes.  Yearling must be on its side with 4 legs sticking out before being marked, then removing the ropes.  Time will stop when ALL ropes are off of the yearling.  There will be a 2 minute time limit.  No loping in the herd will be allowed.

Team Pinning:

This is a 4 man team all horseback.  A herd of yearlings will be held behind a line at one end of the arena.  As riders approach the line, the announcer will call a number that has been drawn for them.  Time begins when the cutter crosses the line.  Without loping in the herd, cutter must cut his numbered yearling from the herd and drive it across the start line.  The next two yearlings will be cut in numerical sequence.  Herd holders may cross the line, but are not allowed in the herd at any time.  If any yearling crosses the line out of sequence, the team will receive a NO TIME.  If any yearling comes back across the line during cutting, the team will receive a NO TIME.  If any stray cattle cross the line it will be a NO TIME.  Once the third yearling crosses the line and the team quits the herd the team will no longer be responsible for the rest of the herd, except for keeping them away from their 3 yearlings while they are being penned.  If during the penning process one or more of the yearlings go back to herd only original cutter may reenter the herd to recut the yearlings.  All three designated cattle must be penned to draw a time.  Riding into the gate and raising hands while cattle are still under control will stop the time.  There will be a three minute time limit to sort and pen their cattle at the opposite end of the arena.

 Goat Roping:

This is a 4 man team, 2 members horseback, and 2 members on foot.  One team at a time will run.  There will be 3 goats in a chute for the team.  There will be a line in the arena.  Riders must stay on their side of the line opposite of the chute.  Team members on foot must stay on the other side of line.  Team will start when gate is opened and goats are released.  Team members on foot must get goats across line for riders to rope.  Goats must be on riders side of the line before they rope the goat.  Riders must rope goat, pull goat up on top of horse with you, and then take goat to line to give to member on foot.  Each rider must rope at least one goat, with one rider roping 2 goats.  When goat is given to member on foot that member must return the goat to the chute.  Time will stop when all three goats are back in chute and gate is latched. There will be a 3 minute time limit on this event.
