HOWARD COUNTY FAIR QUEEN'S PAGEANT    
September 15, 2007

Pageant Coordinators:

  1. Each Club, Social, Fraternal, Religious Group, Business, Civic or School organization of Howard County and adjoining counties will be allowed one contestant. Contestants need not be a member of the sponsoring organization but must be a resident of Howard or an adjoining county.
     
  1. Each sponsor is required to pay a $35.00 entry fee. Sponsors fee must accompany the entry.
     
  1. Contestant has to be enrolled in an area high school class of Howard County or an adjoining county or enrolled in Howard College or S.W.C.I.D. She must be single and never married or had children.
     
  1. Contestants must be attired in denim wear and an evening gown. Due to the elevation of the stage, appropriate length attire should be chosen by the contestants. The evening wear is similar to prom dress attire.
     
  1. The contestant will be judged in an interview, personality and questions asked by the judging panel. Contestants must attend the Fair at least 3 of the 4 nights. The Queen must attend the Livestock show on Saturday morning, September 29. She will award ribbons.
     
  1. The winner of the Queen's Pageant forfeits the right to future entries in the Howard County Fair Queen's Pageant in future years.
     
  1. Prizes: Howard College - $600.00 in scholarships
     
  1. Queen will receive a $300.00 scholarship First runner-up will receive a $200.00 scholarship Second runner-up will receive a $ 100.00 scholarship Miss Congeniality, voted by the contestants, will receive a gift.
     
  1. Entry forms may be picked up from Posey Cotton Company, the Howard County Extension office, or by calling either of the directors. They are to be returned to the Howard County Extension office in the basement of the courthouse by Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
     
  1. Howard County Fair Association will not be responsible for loss, injury or damage to personal property or contestants on the grounds or at any related function or designated place.

  1. Judging and crowning will be Saturday, September 15,2007 at 1:00 p.m.
     

Workshops on makeup application, runway modeling and interview skills will begin at 9:00
a.m. for the contestants only. Parents, Grandparents and other interested parties are
welcome and encouraged to attend the pageant beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The winner will be crowned immediately following the competition.
